  • Biz Bit: Yes this is a new project. No I will not forget Getting Lucky and maybe i run around naked in peanut butter.

The creatures arrived about three years ago. They walked straight from the mist and into town. I don't know why they targeted our town or why now or even what they truly are. I've heard them called many things. Monster is a popular one. Nightmare is another. Some people even think they might be some highly evolved being from another world but not me. To me, they'll always be demons. From the flesh the clung too tightly to their forms to their glowing black eyes with the golden pupils.

I don't know if there is any such thing as heaven or God but I'm sure that Hell must exist. It absolutely has to. There can't be any other way these things can exist. Where else would they have come from? I've been trying to figure out their origin for the last several months but all I keep coming back to is hell. Hell and its many demons. It's the only option that seems to make any sense.

Then again, not much makes sense anymore. My sanity has started to slip ever since the final survivors of Bassus, of home, were taken out. I've started hearing things. Seeing things too. Their plague. I think I ended up getting it in the last attack. You see, that's how they get you if your too quick for their blades and too smart for their traps. They make you sick. Delerious. You think everything was a bad dream. You let your guard down and then they get you. At least, that's what I think. It's hard to think sometimes. It's painful. It's like the entire process is just too much for my brain to handle. Must be another symptom of that godforsaken disease.

My memories have even started disappearing. Chunks of my life are leaving my mind and its too painful for me to even try and figure out what they are. So I have to get my tale out before my escape from Bassus is wiped clean from my gray matter. Before the chance to tell you of how the demons appeared and how I managed to escape the small town turned hell-hole. God, my brain just hurt again. It felt like a bolt of lightning shot around  my membranes. I'm getting weaker. The struggle to keep myself sane and alert is getting harder and harder. Every day I have to make sure I know my name. I say it ten times and then spell it. I spell it to make sure I still know how to spell. M-O-R-G-A-N. Good. I've still got it.

I know that I'm not going to be able to keep hold of that for long. I'll eventually lose it. My guard will drop. My alertness will disappear and they will get me. The demons will get me like they have the others. Unlike the others though, I won't fight. I can't. Not anymore. I'm too weak and too tired. I haven't eaten in a couple days. Food is scarce now that the demons have taken over half the state. Or do they own all of it now. I don't know anymore. So I leave this chronicle of survival with the hopes that someone is alive and finds me. That someone can kill these things. That I'm not completely insane.

So, to whomever stumbles across my camp and reads this, I beg of you to grant my last request and bury whatever pieces remain of me. Or just light a fire and have some Morgan skewers. God knows that the demons probably will. My name is Morgan Robinson and as I sit here huddled around a dying campfire, I know I'm going to die.

Biz Bit II: Yes i did give Morgan the last name of my Lucky from Getting Lucky.

  • Pain rattled my body as I staggered back toward the city.  I could feel a small amount of blood trickle down my face from an injury sustained in the crash. My ribs felt cracked and bruised, delivering a stinging pain with every breath that I took. My knees felt weak and wrong like I shouldn't even be able to stand on them. Despite every ounce of pain that flowed me, I continued to move toward town.

Images of Gwen burned in my mind, propelling me forward. Kepping me moving through the agony that flooded my freshly wrecked body. Images of her smiling, of us holding hands, of making love to her. Each new image pushed me harder to move, to save her.

"Where in the name of holy fuck are you going?" Icarus shouted behind me. I stopped walking and turned to look at him. His glasses were cracked and several of his spikes were knocked loose. "In case you didn't fucking notice, the monster's are that way. Escape is the other direction."

"I know but those things have Gwen. They took her and I'm getting her back," I responded before turning back toward Bassus. Before I took a step, I heard Icarus let out a loud laugh, causing me to pause in anger and slight anticipation of what he might have to say.

"Are you fucking serious? You're going to risk your life for her? Save yourself now and just leave. She's probably already dead. Just forget her."

I turned and faced him again, an angry glare quickly washing over my face. I took several deliberate and painful steps to him. Without much hesitation, I approached Icarus and stopped when I was nose to nose with him. Without saying anything, I stared into eyes. His eyes held a mild amount of fear as I peered beyond his cracked bifocals. He had seen me fight before. Knew how vicious I could be when I wanted to.

"I'm not leaving Gwen with them. I told her I'd always come for her and that's what I'm going to do."

"Dude," Icarus said taking a step back. "Just leave her. Be smart."

"Leaving now is cowardice. Not intelligence. You can go if you want but  I'm staying until I have her back." Without explaining myself further, I turned  and started  to move toward town once again.

"What'll you do if you find her and she's like Shane?"

    "Then I guess I'm fucked."

After half a minute of painful walking, I heard Icarus hurrying up behind me. He jogged as fast as he could and quickly caught up with me. Glancing over at him, he gave a slight nod. I returned the nod with a small smile. Silently, we walked toward the town.

After fifteen minutes, we reached the first major street we could find. Several cars sat wrecked on it while dead bodies littered the sidewallk. Several buildings sat in ruin. My eyes instinctively scanned the area, searching for any sign of Gwen. But it was no use. There was no sign of her short puple hair. Not even a footprint from her combat boots that she liked two sizes bigger than the right size.

"Where do we look first?" Icarus asked.

I shrugged and sighed. "I don't know. Let's go to the school. That's where the attack began. Maybe there's some sort of clue there."

Icarus nodded and we started to walk once more, heading toward the school. As I walked, I couldn't help but think of what might be happening to Gwen. What those things might be doing to her. What if Icarus was right? What if she was gone already? Turned into some kind of abomination by a freak with shrink wrapped skin.

After several blocks, I stopped and leaned against the nearest wall. The pain had increased ten-fold in me.

"Robinson," A voice shouted out from nearby. Immediatly turning in the direction I managed to see the principal approaching me. And he looked pissed.

  • "You're behind this, aren't you?" Fredericks barked as he drew closer to me. "You and your creepy little buddies brought this hell upon us. Admit it, you little shit."  The principal grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and forced me against a wall. Before I had time to react to my new predicament, he buried one of his massive fists in my stomach. The wind escaped my lungs forcefully and I coughed in pain.

"Not...involved..." I coughed.  I stared through teary eyes into those of my attacker. They held nothing but hatred and disbelief.  His hand released its hold on my collar and in a split-second, it ended up next to its twin in my stomach. a painful cough was forced from my body and the world started to spin.

"You little liar," the former man of authority growled, "I know it was you. Before the school blew, you were nowhere to be found."

    "Right...outside," I groaned.

    "What?"

"I was outside. Waiting," I coughed again, my lungs struggling slightly to take in air. Pain rattled my torso from the force behind the principal's punches. The principal backed up a step and arched an eyebrow.

    "Waiting? For what?"

"Gwen," I said sliding down the wall and taking in a couple breaths. "We went outside. Fooled around in Icarus's van. After, Gwen ran inside to use the bathroom. I was waiting for her and..." Then it hit me. The reason why I was walking into town in the first place. A memory replayed in my mind of me walking to the crashed the crashed van. The crashed and empty van.  "Shit, Gwen," I said, getting up as fast as I could with the pain in my body.

As I got to my feet, Fredericks arm flew out and pushed me back against the wall. "Hold on there, fucko. I'm not through with you yet."

"Get off of me," I said viciously, as I slapped his hand away from me. "I've gotta find Gwen."

"Find her? What happened? She go into the school, your bomb go off and you forget her there."

Without thinking, my fist flew through the air and caught the man's jaw. He staggered back and clutched at where I hit him, a shocked look on his face "I told you I didn't do it. After that bomb blew, I ran in to get her. We were on our way out of town when we were hit. And after we were hit. They took her."

Fredericks growled and glared at me, sizing me up. His eyes moved up and down, clearly trying to tell if I was telling the truth or not. After a small eternity, he spoke . "You mean the creepy bastards in the suits?"

    "Yeah."

    "Alright. I believe you."

I arched an eyebrow. Those were the words I least expected to com out of his mouth. He despised me. Why would he actually admit to believing me? "You do?"

He nodded. "Yeah. I've seen those little fucks around town now. Offing loads of people. And I know that you wouldn't have let them have her if you had a choice."

Before I could Speak, Icarus appeared and pointed at the older man. "But you just accused him of leaving her in a bombed building."

"I did. I'm still not convinced he didn't bomb the place but I know he wouldn't hurt her. Not on purpose anyway."

I glared at him, unsure as whether he was luring me into a flase sense of security or if he really believed me. It didn't make any sense. A second ago he was accusing me of "forgetting" Gwen and now he was telling me he knew I wouldn't hurt her.

"Alright," I said. "Are you going to let me go now?"

"No," he said. "I'm coming with. I've seen these fuckers at work. You want your girl back, you need all the help you can get."

I looked to Icarus and after a moment we nodded in unison. "Alright. Well, we don't even know where to find her? Any suggestions?"

He nodded. "Yeah but first, if we're gonna teach these bastards a lesson. We're gonna need some guns."
